Mill City

Last week we visited the Mill City Museum.  It was the first time we visited the museum to see the exhibits.  The first time we went there we had our wedding reception.

The last dance and a serenade.

The lobby ceiling with grains of wheat.
The museum is dedicated to the importance that flour milling and St Anthony Falls played in the history of Minneapolis.  When we got engaged, my friend Erin worked at the museum and suggested it.  We went to check it out and as soon as we walked into the lobby and saw the ceiling, we were sold.  It is so pretty.  And, as we just learned, the museum exhibits are nice too.  Who knew flour could be so interesting!  It's explosive (literally, flour dust is explosive)!

Family portrait in front of the wheat mural.
